Systemic Thinking Skills: Relationship to Epistemological Beliefs and Mathematical Beliefs

<p style="text-align: justify;">Systemic thinking skills are an increasingly important aspect of contemporary life for all students. Therefore, the first aim present study was to investigate relationship between systemic skills, epistemological beliefs, and mathematical beliefs in a sample 120 secondary school students aged 16-18 years Saudi Arabia. The second objective examine gender differences these three variables. Participants answered scales measuring Systemic Thinking Inventory (STI) Mathematical Beliefs Scale (MBS) created by researcher. Additionally, participants Epistemic Belief (EBI). Results showed positive correlation beliefs. In addition, significant were found favor men on holistic vision system synthesis subscales females analysis subscale. Significant A particular difference innate knowledge omniscient authority males, simple knowledge, certain rapid learning females. mathematics teacher competence self-efficacy males usefulness mathematics, difficulty enjoyment results discussed light relevant literature, suggestions made.</p>
